Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari has decided to impart high quality education in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences so Faculty of Pharmacy has been established with advanced equipment which will be run under the supervision of well qualified and professional academic staff. Faculty has established its own Library with a wide range of old and modern books on Pharmacy to fulfill the long felt needs of students wherein the students have an access to internet in order to explore the new avenues in terms of their learning. Moreover, this will give students the distinct advantage of access to the latest trends, thinking, issues and research in their particular field. Pharmacy Science has evolved from the craft dedicated to the compounding of drugs to a profession focusing on helping Patients get the best outcomes from medication therapies. Pharmacy is a distinct field of modern science which is interlinked with health, chemical and biological sciences which is involved in drug discovery, synthesis manufacturing and patient care.

The Pharmacist’s demand has increased worldwide as its role evolved from manufacturing and supplying of drugs towards clinical side for better pharmaceutical care to the patient. Therefore, Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy) five years’ program will be offered shortly by Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari Karachi in order to cater the increasing need of Pharmacists in the country and play a paramount role in Patient care.
